if i move a video on my vista pc from my own user account and drop it into "users/public/video" instead, i can access it from the new windows 7 laptop no Thanks. I am computer savvy and have knowledge of drive permissions to a point but I cannot get the server to allow unlimited access to me but restricted access to the kids. This folder is only useful if you drag the files to it, otherwise the rest of the folders will not be shared.

On the desktop, I can see the win7 laptop in the same workgroup but on the laptop, the desktop is not visible. I was able to see the network shares thorugh the wireless one, the wired one is out of luck thus far.( the WD is wired). How can I change this?
