How To Delete "Windows.old" When It Still Has SecureRom Files/folders

Can't delete Windows.old I was trying to fix the performance issues, so I decided to do a disk clean up (with system files and everything checked) and had the drive defragmented. Good News: Oftentimes a simple thank you is the best form of payment! I dont want to format disk and re-write the OS again, but 12Gb of wasted place still means much to me. Any ideas on how toremove this folder? Much to my surprise, I was also unable>to delete two of the files. You can also try booting into another OS and deleting the windows.old from there.If you only have 1 OS, you can download a Linux Live CD and boot off of that

So I attempted to delete thefolder, after using JV16 powertools to search the Registry for anySecuRom entries, and removing them.Much to my surprise, I was unable to delete the folder. I have a horrible nagging suspicion that I'm in a Catch22. I had a similar issue before and I managed to remove the file with the DelinvFile program.

I've used it once to delete a bloated documents folder of an account that no longer exists. I stated that first because the hdd should be almost full, and second because there's no windows.old directory. within the Windows 7 , Windows Vista Support forums, part of the Tech Support Forum category. You have to take the ownership of that folder (Windows.old) and then you need to give your account full control permission on that file/folder.
